John W. Adams, Jr. – President and Chief Executive Officer
John W. Adams, Jr. joined Global Healthcare Alliance (Global) as a founding director, president and chief executive officer in 1997. Under his leadership, Global has grown from a modest service organization to an award-winning, industry leader providing revenue cycle management services to healthcare providers.
Mr. Adams has more than 30 years of diversified experience in the healthcare industry. He served in executive positions for The Methodist Hospital in Houston and Texas Children’s Hospital, and held positions with National Heritage Insurance Company; American Medical, International, and Hospital Affiliates, International.
In 1999, Advance for Health Information Executives Magazine recognized Adams for his contribution to the healthcare information technology field by naming him as one of the Most Influential Individuals in Healthcare Information Technology. Adams co-authored with Dr. Denton A. Cooley a chapter titled ‘Package Pricing at the Texas Heart Institute’ featured in Consumer-Driven Healthcare: Implications for Providers, Payers, and Policymakers (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2004) by Dr. Regina E. Herzlinger of Harvard Business School.
Mr. Adams is a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Medical Group Management Association. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston—Clear Lake.
Christopher P. Karl – Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Christopher P. Karl joined Global Healthcare Alliance in 1999 as Controller and was quickly promoted to vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Karl is responsible for Accounting, IT, HR as well as overseeing budgeting and capital planning for Global. In addition, Mr. Karl works closely with the entire Executive team to help shape the strategic direction of the organization.
Mr. Karl’s experience providing strategic direction for healthcare organizations through technology improvement and financial restructuring is a cornerstone of Global’s success. Prior to Global, Mr. Karl’s healthcare experience began at Arthur Anderson in the Audit Division where he had the opportunity to work on both large and mid-size hospital engagements. He then worked in Internal Control and Business Development at Hermann Hospital. There he lead the implementation of a Revenue Management System which monitored accuracy of Payer payments and resulted in collecting more than $2.5 million in underpayments. In addition, he worked closely with the Director of Business Development in negotiating and designing contracts on behalf of the hospital. Mr. Karl was also Assistant Controller of TME where he was responsible for Monthly close, budgets, the implementation of a new Practice Management system and overseeing Billing and Collections. Mr. Karl earned his degree from the University of Houston and is a certified public accountant.
Tobin S. Lassen – Secretary and Vice President, Business Development
Tobin Lassen became vice president of business development of Global Healthcare Alliance in 1997. Mr. Lassen successfully facilitated the venture’s expansion from an Independent Practice Association (IPA) management organization to an award-winning company providing revenue cycle management solutions to healthcare providers.
Mr. Lassen’s previous leadership experience includes serving as director of payor relations for Cardiovascular Care Providers, assistant director of managed care and business development for Hermann Hospital in Houston and vice president of acquisitions for the Sizeler Companies. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University, his Master of Business Administration from Tulane University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas – School of Public Health.

Kevin Goertz – Vice President, Operations and Client Services
Kevin Goertz joined Global Healthcare Alliance as Director of Implementation and MSO Billing in 2009 and was promoted to Vice President, Operations and Client Services in 2012. With more than 25 years of revenue cycle management experience in health care, Mr. Goertz manages and leads Global’s day-to-day operating functions as part of the senior management team.
Mr. Goertz’s achievements include serving as Assistant Director for Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates and Texas Children’s Physician Organization in the Central Billing Office. He managed the Texas Children’s conversion project for professional billing and scheduling software. Mr. Goertz earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration degree.
David Dickey – Chief Information Officer
David Dickey joined Global Healthcare Alliance as Director of Information Technology in April, 2008 and was quickly promoted to Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Mr. Dickey directs Global’s information technology team and provides strategic direction for Global’s technology.
Mr. Dickey’s past leadership experience includes serving as Director of Integration Services for Quest Diagnostics where he was responsible for the Care360 Hub, a web services based interface model for integration with EHRs and HIE solutions. Also, as a Consultant/Project Manager for Ernst & Young LLP he managed multiple Fortune 500 projects focused on streamlining processes through IT enablement. Mr. Dickey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems and Accounting from Texas A&M University.
