Global Healthcare Alliance Transitions Technology, Business Processes to Support New Standards
HOUSTON – Global Healthcare Alliance, a nationwide provider of medical billing and collections outsourcing services for physician practices, announced today that it has transitioned from HIPAA 4010A1 transaction standards to the new 5010 standard.
Global has successfully integrated the HIPAA 5010 transaction set into its Web-based practice management system, globalcentaraSM, and its supporting systems and processes have undergone rigorous testing to ensure a seamless transition for its clients. Understanding that all health plans have not yet made the transition to 5010, Global continues to submit claims in the 4010 format to those payers.
In anticipation of ICD-10’s implementation in 2013, Global has developed a comprehensive project plan to incorporate the code sets throughout the organization. Work has already been initiated to implement ICD-10 into all of its impacted systems, including those supporting claims, scheduling, registration, and reporting. Global will continue to work closely with its clients, vendor partners, clearinghouses, and payers through comprehensive development efforts and stringent quality assurance testing.
“As the healthcare environment and its regulatory guidelines continue to evolve, our clients can rest assured that we’re taking the appropriate steps to ensure their systems are in compliance and that their daily operations go uninterrupted. Our team has devoted countless hours over the past year to deliver 5010- and ICD-10-ready solutions for our clients; and as a result, we are fully prepared to meet the new requirements,” said John W. Adams, president and CEO of Global.
